Self Actualisation

When we are born we are given a name, nationality, race and religion is all decided for us. As we grow and start understanding the things we start making our choices and develop a personality. Which is the second birth. We develop skills, we learn and gain experiences and we make plans and set goals such owning a business, becoming famous in sports. But do we ever know the actual reason, why we are born and what is the purpose of our life. The concept of self-actualisation was brought into the mainstream by Abraham Maslow when he introduced his “hierarchy of needs.” There is a lot of stuff out there regarding this. Today I will be talking about this based on my own experiences because each and every person has a unique way. When we accept ourselves for what we are, we find inner security and don’t have expectations of being accepted by others. This is the stage it took me a lot of time to clear but eventually I did.

Ask yourself these three questions to understand how much you actually know yourself. Who am I? Why was I born? What do I want to achieve before I die? This triangle shows our general needs and what stages of life people can be stuck on. If they are stuck on one of these and don’t realise this soon enough they will not be able to discover themselves. To reach the self actualisation stage you have to be true to yourself, accept the wrongs in you and work to improve this. Self actualisation is opening the doors to all the possibilities and your full potential, which will help you achieve your goals and dreams.

It’s understandable that a lot of people like to follow their traditions and values, which they have been brought up with. But we can not change the law of nature, change is constant and cannot be stopped. Our elders may be part of this group who still believe traditions never change, that is because when they were growing up, they have not been told that life can be improved and upgraded. I also was never told this and had to find my own way and teach myself so much more than what I was initially told. We are in 2020 now but are we changing the way we are upbringing our children? Yes, we try to teach them everything but do we give them the believe, that they can change and improve their lives as they grow?

“Flexible minds can give parents opportunities to understand children better and break the barriers between them.”

There are two parts of a human being, internal and external. A lot of people we meet they look modern but when we start a conversation with them, that’s when we actually come to know the reality of their personality and thoughts. Because unfortunately a lot of us miss this point. Your outlook can be changed and upgraded daily, which is also important but if you don’t upgrade yourself internally you will not be able to understand your own needs and this will restrict you from understanding other people’s needs too. We need to understand that living beings are suppose to be changing themselves according to the circumstances. This is how we can differentiate between living beings and machines.

“Your Internal glow will enlighten your external look.”
