As greed and materialism go hand in hand. Usually it’s said that the more highly people endorsed materialistic values, the more they experienced unpleasant emotions, depression and anxiety. These people particularly are not living their life in a way that will satisfy their psychological needs. But they discover this later at some point in life what actually makes them happy. Even though I am not a materialistic person but let’s be honest the basic needs and desires to have certain financial stability and the independence makes us think of having a lot of money. Bu I know exactly how and where I want to spend that money if I ever had it.
However It’s never the money that’s evil, but the human behind the money that can be. Because they know what their intentions are and what they want to achieve. So we can give it either a positive or negative influence in the world. But with a lot of money comes stress, this doesn’t mean every person on the planet is just running after money to be rich, there are people who just want to have the basics, and normal comfortable life for their kids, and financial stability.
Anxiety and depression are two different conditions but they go hand in hand. Depression is a most unusual and confounding mystery, it’s usually difficult to tell the real cause, because it can be more than one. Anxiety is something that we cannot escape given the difficult situations that we may experience everyday, which slowly gets on us without us really knowing. Suppose people have everything and they should be thankful to go for having a house, Car, Job etc but what is making them unhappy? People who have anxiety often described as an unpleasant feeling that we all experience such as always being uptight, nervous, tense or irritable. But how would you know whether your anxiety is good or bad? I have shared some of the symptoms below, which I have also experienced and still do at times.

Symptoms of Anxiety
There are four categories of symptoms to know whether you have anxiety or not such as physical, thoughts, emotions, and behaviour.
- Physical symptoms that you may have include tension, dizziness, pins and needles and palpitations.
- For thoughts, you would always look at the worst case scenario, your mind is always on alert, and you often worry all the time or should I say feeling on ‘edge’.
- For emotional symptoms, you would often feel nervous, panicky, or stressed and this could make have a short temper.
- Behavioural symptoms like you not to do things you like, loss of appetite (first thing for me personally) and get angry at people too fast
It is very important to understand your symptoms and be able to differentiate. Your symptoms may cause you to withdraw from social contact like seeing your family and friends to avoid feelings of worry and dread. You should see a a professional if anxiety is affecting your daily life or is causing you distress. Also you should consult a nutritionist because what you eat plays a major role in how you feel. A lot of people are unhappy because they have no one to share their problems or happiness with? Its possible they earning well but they working so hard to keep that job and impress their employers, they not actually enjoying the life.

It’s human nature to wish for the best and there is nothing wrong with these wishes. But sometime we fail to understand having money, Job, House, Relationships etc is not everything for everyone. Each person is different, and have different requirements and desires. If someone is stressed, all they probably need is someone to listen, to understand and support them emotionally. Family & Friends are there for a reason right? but how much interaction do we have with them. Each person in a family, even if they living in same house will have something of their own going on.
It’s not about counting their mistakes, reminding them the reasons why ‘bad’ things are happening to them. We all make mistakes, we all learn and go through a phase where we sit back and analyse what we have been doing in our life, and where its brought us. What makes matters more alarming is that both of these mental conditions are very common in every part of the world and and anybody can suffer from it. Fortunately, they can be overcome by knowing how to cope with them and support from family and friends or people we consider close to us can help.
Society may not like this and judge you for it, we shouldn’t worry, because behind close doors they are probably going through the same.
Materialistic things don’t heal depression, if this was the case then why do we hear about rich and famous people also going through depression? Money, house, career etc they can resolve some of the usual problems but depression is mental and emotional issue. The thought process we have keeps people in a place of fear, living in a state of anxiety. What if I lose my job? What if I lose everything I have, These thoughts can keep us awake for nights. It’s important to accept changes and adapt according to the way nature is rather than thinking how it should be. Of course, it is fine to have ideals, wanting life to be a certain way.
When we start over thinking about things in life we start stressing.
