Parent – Child Relationship
A very important key piece of a healthy relationship is Communication. Each day we should spend some time with our loved ones and discuss some deeper and personal subjects. This gives us an insight to what is going on in their life. Family relationships have an important influence on well-being of an individual. Now being born into a certain family cannot be picked by us, and how will that environment effect our childhood. But this environment, be it positive or negative plays a major role in building our personality. It is very important to understand the mental capability of the people around us, their likes and dislikes and respecting each other’s opinions.
This is the first relationship we have after we are born and this is the one that cultivates the physical, emotional and social development of the child. It lays the foundation for the child’s personality, life choices and overall behaviour. If you are growing in a secure and healthy environment and a close relationship with your parents, you stand a better chance of developing happy and content relationships with others in your life. It is very important to have a friendly relationship with your child throughout. Parents are child’s first teachers and act as role models in how to act and how to experience the world around them. Since everybody has different approach based on their own experiences and upbringing. A key role of parents and older relatives is to offer guidance, support and, where needed, boundaries and discipline. As families are so close and spend so much time together, arguments and disagreements can arise, but in most families, these are short-lived and even in moments of anger or hurt, families still love and care about each other. But if your family members are not the kind who would let go of things then this needs to be communicated. Remember there is always a limit to how much you can or should take, even if this is coming from families. You have to keep your own mental health on top priority.
Siblings

Sibling relationships are important for a child’s development as much as parenting does. Siblings are often the only people with whom we have lifelong relationships. For many people that means a built-in best friend for life. But deep, lifetime connections like that can be messy at times, even in the strongest of bonds. Siblings are first people that teach each other how to get along with other people, how to share things. But each child will have different personality, because as they grow their choices become more apparent. their likes and dislikes change. Your siblings can help you with your depression if they have the understanding. After your parents they can be your support system but if they are not you will be looking outside for that support.
Friends
Friends are people who we are not related to but choose to interact with. These are people we trust, respect, care about and want to spend time with. A good friendship should be built on honesty, support and loyalty. Some people have many friends, while others may only have one or two. Good friendships are mutually respectful and supportive and share common interests and ideas. You learn from each others life experiences. With friends you can usually share everything and even be open about all the dark secrets in your life because they usually don’t judge you — well depends if they are genuine and sincere friends. I feel very lucky in this case, because I don’t have many but the friends I do have are easy to approach. We all share everything about our good and bad days.
Too many friends aren’t needed, just make sure the once you have are genuine.
Life Partner
A romantic relationship is one in which you feel very strongly attracted to the other person, both to their personality and, often, also physically. Successful Romantic relationships are built on love, trust, respect, support, acceptance, shared interests and a desire for the two people involved to share their lives together. You probably would have insecurities in this relationship and any kind of insecurity can ruin this relationship before you even realise this. When every other relationship fails we start expecting a lot more from our partners. We try to become that child and re-live our childhood, we try to share things and make the partner our best friend. It can put a lot of burden on you and your partner and that could be the downfall and cause of mental health issues. Therefore its important to balance everything.
Learn to let go things from the past so that you can live your present.
Acquaintances
Acquaintances are people you may encounter regularly, but who are not friends or relatives. For example, they may be people you meet occasionally, work colleagues or someone you have seen a few times at a social event but do not yet know well. They have different personalities, some would inspire you and some you would want to avoid. These people probably won’t effect your mental health directly, but your work or the expectations of your company and managers may cause stress, and IT DOES! It is important to be polite and respectful to people around you to avoid stress or conflict. At the end of the day you don’t want to lose your job because you have bills to pay, kids to feed.

Each and every relation you have in life will teach you something, either positive or negative. With some your mental health will improve and with some it will get worse but its very important to understand the differences and work out the best way forward. I won’t really blame people for not understanding, because they probably don’t know how to, and it’s ok. But what is not ok, when these people will stop you from moving forward. You will have continue your journey regardless and It will keep adding up to your experience box. You will be the one to decide how you want to use this experience to improve and upgrade your life.
“Always remember any experience will be a bonus to keep you ahead of the game of life!”
